Violeta Borruel was born in Huesca, where her curiosity and interest in physical movement began, training in classical and contemporary dance. She continues her development in different schools in Zaragoza, and in the Reina Sofía Dance Conservatory in Granada. Later, she entered at the Higher Conservatoire of Dance “María de Ávila” in Madrid, where she studied contemporary dance pedagogy. During her artistic training, she obtained the dance training certificate for Parkinson’s “Dance for PD®, Mark Morris Dance Group”, and at the same time she obtained a degree and a doctorate in Geology with a distinction “cum laude” by unanimity from the Complutense University of Madrid.
In her professional experience, she participates as a choreographer and performer in various theaters on the national scene, in the Periferias Festival 2019 and 2017 (Huesca), International Festival of Performing Arts Nocte (Graus) 2019 and 2012, IX Edition Danza y Ciudad 2019 (Huesca), XV Winter Harvest Arts Show 2019 (Hoya de Huesca), Sal a Remolinos 2019 (Remolinos, Zaragoza), “Microbío, poetry of Patios and Rooftops” in 2017, within the Festival Periferias 18.0, and 2018 (Huesca). She is an artist-in-residence at the Larrés Festival “Güestival” 2012, is part of the Algorines (Graus) 2012 Artistic Residency Program, and enjoys a PATRIM+ cross-border residency (2019). She also participates in various performances in alternative spaces, museums and art galleries (Museo Reina Sofía 2016 and Galería Orfila 2019, Madrid).
